Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Christian Comes Up Short

Mansfield Christian came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Central Christian Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Mansfield Christian was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-14.

When it comes to explaining why Mansfield Christian lost, don't look at McKenzie Webb. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and four aces. Webb is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season.

The loss snapped Mansfield Christian's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-8 record. As for Central Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Christian will face off against Mansfield Senior at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Christian, they will head out to square off against Crestline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
