Baseball Recap: Lynn Has No Trouble Against Covenant Christian

It's playoff time, and Lynn had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Covenant Christian Eagles on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Austin Dodd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cade Key, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Dylan Dunagan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Lynn moved to 19-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Covenant Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Lynn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
