Volleyball Recap: Hand Tigers vs. Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers

Hand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hilltoppers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hand started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-10, 25-15, 25-12.

Johnathan Rivera was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 14 digs and four assists.

Hand's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bridgeport Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hand will take on Shelton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bridgeport Central, they will square off against Notre Dame Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
