Softball Recap: Colbert County Wins Going Away Against Wilson

Colbert County hadn't done well against Wilson recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Indians have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylee Holland was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallory Gargis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Holland wasn't the only one making solid contact: Colbert County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Colbert County now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Wilson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Coming up, Colbert County will take on Clements at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Colts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilson, they will host Boyertown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
