Softball Game Preview: Fluvanna County Flying Flucos vs. Albemarle Patriots

The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos are taking a road trip to take on the Albemarle Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Albemarle took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fluvanna County, who comes in off a win.

Fluvanna County proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 16) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Western Albemarle. The Flying Flucos haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Albemarle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Orange County, falling 9-0.

Fluvanna County's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Albemarle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Fluvanna County took their win against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flying Flucos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
