Baseball Game Preview: Los Alamitos Griffins vs. Fountain Valley Barons

For the second straight game, Los Alamitos will face off against Fountain Valley. The Griffins will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Barons at 3:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Los Alamitos 3, Fountain Valley 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Los Alamitos turned things around against Fountain Valley on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Barons by a score of 6-2. The game was the first time the Griffins have beaten the Barons on their field since March 24, 2023.

TRISTIN DALZELL tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, TYLER SMITH was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. DEVIN PORCH was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Los Alamitos' win bumped their record up to 16-8-2. As for Fountain Valley, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-10.
