Baseball Recap: John Champe Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for John Champe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let the Woodgrove Wolverines get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Wolverines on Thursday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Elijah Marshall tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, John Champe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Wallace, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

John Champe pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Woodgrove, they moved to 10-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, John Champe will square off against Broad Run at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodgrove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
