Baseball Recap: Proviso West Comes Up Short

Proviso West lost against York last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 17-1 to the Dukes. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Proviso West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Komperda, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Komperda's first of the season.

Proviso West now has a losing record of 3-4. As for York, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Proviso West will take on Willowbrook at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for York, they will face off against Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Dukes' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
