Mahtomedi faced Shakopee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Zephyrs won by a goal and slipped past the Sabers 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Mahtomedi sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mahtomedi's win bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Shakopee, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mahtomedi will head out to challenge Simley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shakopee, they will take on Eagan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagan's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
