Softball Recap: Swett Warriors vs. Hercules Titans
Swett lost against Hercules last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Swett Warriors took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hercules Titans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (13), Swett still had to take the loss.
Selene Schlepp and Kailea Barte did some serious damage despite the final result: Schlepp scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Barte scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Barte is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Flores, who went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI.
On Hercules' side, Jaida Flores was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI. Emily Placencia was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, a triple, and a run.
This is the second loss in a row for Swett and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Hercules, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5-1.
