Basketball Game Preview: South Webster Jeeps vs. Fairland Dragons

Having just played yesterday, the South Webster Jeeps will head out on the road to face off against the Fairland Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with South Webster sitting on three straight wins and Fairland on 12.

On Friday, South Webster made easy work of Portsmouth West and carried off a 57-35 victory. The Jeeps have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fairland beat Chesapeake 55-49 on Friday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Panthers are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Webster better keep an eye on Brody Buchanan. He was instrumental in Fairland's win, putting up 30 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cliff Fransen, who posted 12 points and seven boards.

Fairland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points over those games. As for South Webster, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.

South Webster didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Fairland when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win.
