Trinity Lutheran extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-14. They came up short against the Beech Grove Hornets, falling 15-1. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Trinity Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Whipker, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Marissa Baker was another, earning one RBI and two stolen bases.
As for Beech Grove, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-18. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Beech Grove's side, Kyrah Pierle was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pierle has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addison Corn was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Trinity Lutheran will challenge Milan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Beech Grove, they will square off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
