Volleyball Recap: Nature Coast Tech's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Nature Coast Tech posted their closest victory since September 21, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the River Ridge Royal Knights, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Sharks as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Nature Coast Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Talia Bateman out in front who had 21 assists and nine digs. That's the most assists Bateman has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Gabby Larocca, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Despite the defeat, River Ridge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Isabella Taylor had ten assists and six digs. Gwenyth Garrison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Nature Coast Tech's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for River Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Coincidentally, Nature Coast Tech and River Ridge will both be playing Springstead the next time they take the court. The Sharks will head out to face the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Royal Knights will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
