Madison has no trouble against Sterling

Recap: Madison Marlins vs. Sterling Raiders

The Madison Marlins waltzed into their contest on Monday with 13 straight wins but they left with 14. They took down Sterling 72-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Madison found their leader in underclassman Anthony Avalos, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Avalos has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Hubbard-chenault, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists.

Defeat or not, Sterling got some senior leadership from Christian Rogers and Irving Beteta. Rogers scored 12 points along with two steals, while Beteta. scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Henry Beteta was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.

Madison is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Sterling, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sterling also has no future games currently scheduled.
