Mountain Valley took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against South Park, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Burros 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since September 6, 2024.

Mountain Valley took South Park into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 15-13.

Kandra Pollard paced Mountain Valley's offense, picking up 13 kills. Pollard got some help from Ivy Jean VanEgmond and her 24 assists. Milley Knight controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

The win made it two in a row for Mountain Valley and bumps their season record up to 4-15. As for South Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Mountain Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Antonito on the 27th. As for South Park, after both having extra time off, they and North Fork will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
