Basketball Game Preview: Huntingdon Bearcats vs. Penns Valley Area Rams

The Huntingdon Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Penns Valley Area Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Huntingdon took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bellwood-Antis with a sharp 53-29 win. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Penns Valley Area beat Juniata 68-56 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Penns Valley Area is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Huntingdon, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Huntingdon came up short against Penns Valley Area when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 71-59. Can Huntingdon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
