Baseball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Takes a Loss

Scotia-Glenville and La Salle Institute squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Scotia-Glenville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cadets by a score of 2-0. If the Tartans were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Cadets when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hayden Sladewski was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Scotia-Glenville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for La Salle Institute, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.

As of now, neither Scotia-Glenville nor the Cadets have any future games scheduled.
