Football Game Preview: St. Mark's Lions vs. Episcopal Knights

St. Mark is 0-8 against Episcopal since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Lions will host the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Mark's made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. John's, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 27-24 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Episcopal was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 28-24 to Kinkaid. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Falcons are ranked 127th).

St. Mark's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Episcopal, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

St. Mark's was dealt a bruising 44-7 loss at the hands of Episcopal when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Lions, Brandon Thomas (who rushed for 115 yards and one TD, and also picked up 44 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
