Baseball Recap: Daleville Comes Up Short

Daleville couldn't beat Blue River Valley on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Broncos fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 7-6. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bryson Sigler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Aikin, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Daleville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Blue River Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daleville will host Yorktown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue River Valley, they will square off against Union City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
