Basketball Recap: Turner Comes Up Short

Turner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss. They were beaten by the Wakeland Wolverines 70-4. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-1.

Leading Wakeland to victory were Chloe Chiniara and Charlotte Cavin. Chiniara posted eight points along with seven steals and five assists, while Cavin went 5-for-8 en route to 13 points and six boards. Chiniara is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyla Stengle, who scored nine points and three steals.

Turner's defeat dropped their record down to 2-24. As for Wakeland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 28-6.

Turner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wakeland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-42 win against Liberty on the 10th.
