Baseball Recap: CSTHEA Takes a Loss

CSTHEA had lost ten straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-16 to make it 11. They lost 8-1 to the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Saturday.

CSTHEA saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Madison, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

On Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' side, Jaxon Dang spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Dang has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landon Alexander, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Parker Ballard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, CSTHEA will square off against Howard Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, they will challenge Copper Basin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
