Volleyball Recap: Questa Wildcats vs. Raton Tigers
Questa and Raton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Questa had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Raton Tigers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October.
While Questa had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jocelyne Ortega, who had 30 digs and three kills. With that strong performance, Ortega is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game. Another player making a difference was Delilah Rael, who had 25 digs, three kills, and ten assists.
Even though they lost, Questa kept the net locked down and finished the game with ten blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in October of 2023.
This is the second loss in a row for Questa and nudges their season record down to 22-4. As for Raton, their record is now 15-9.
Questa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lordsburg on the 15th.
