Baseball Recap: Bishop Mcnamara's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop McNamara had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Clifton Central Comets. The win was familiar territory for the Fightin' Irish, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Preston Payne looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop McNamara saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callahan O'Connor, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Max Rohr, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bishop McNamara's record now sits at 25-7. As for Clifton Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

As of now, neither Bishop McNamara nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
