Baseball Game Preview: American Heritage Stallions vs. Olympic Heights Lions

The American Heritage Stallions will head out on the road to square off against the Olympic Heights Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. American Heritage's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Olympic Heights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, American Heritage turned things around against Spanish River on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Sharks.

Brady Snow was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Snow was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Fernandez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Ryan Ashley was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Olympic Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Piper.

Olympic Heights saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camilo Castellon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Castellon also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

American Heritage pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Olympic Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
