Football Recap: Marcus Stracke's Big Game Can't Quite Lead American Heritage over Lakeland Christian + How To Watch

After flying high against St. John Paul II Academy last Friday, American Heritage came back down to earth. The matchup between the Stallions and the Lakeland Christian Vikings didn't end well, with the Stallions falling 42-28. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Stallions, who until this contest were averaging 13.25 points allowed.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Stracke, who threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. 84 of Stracke's passing yards were hauled in by Miles Rose, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Lakeland Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Truedell, who rushed for 198 yards and one score while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Truedell has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Brody Brenneman was another key player, throwing for 171 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes.

American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lakeland Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 6-2.

American Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-21 loss against NSU University on the 24th. As for Lakeland Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 29-24 win against Victory Christian Academy on the 24th.
