Softball Preview: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Altha Wildcats

Wewahitchka is 10-0 against Altha since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Wewahitchka Gators are on the road again to play the Altha Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Wewahitchka came up short against Holmes County and fell 8-5.

Wewahitchka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savana Mayhann, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Altha was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged Chipley out 4-3.

Reagan Roberts spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaylean Clowes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Wewahitchka dropped their record down to 9-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Altha, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Everything went Wewahitchka's way against Altha when the teams last played back in February as Wewahitchka made off with a 14-4 victory.
