Baseball Recap: Empire Has No Trouble Against Mountain View

Empire made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mountain View, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Empire Ravens were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Wednesday. Considering the Ravens have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brady Carey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Micah Tiggas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adam Armstrong, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Empire was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View only posted a batting average of .200.

Empire moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Empire will welcome Tombstone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will host Sahuarita at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Sahuarita's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Mountain View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
