It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lockland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the New Miami Vikings 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won nine in a row.
Trinity Hicks made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched eight innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits. Hicks was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Liselle Bradford was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Lockland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lockland's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for New Miami, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
