Basketball Recap: Sterling Pritchett Key Part of a Team Effort in Vikings Win

Lakeside got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They snuck past the Arabia Mountain Rams with a 52-48 victory on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Rams last Saturday, they had to take a 52-42 defeat.

Lakeside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sterling Pritchett led the charge by putting up 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Pritchett a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Hopkins, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Arabia Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Julian Shanks, who had six points. Another player making a difference was Jaden Ward, who earned 11 points.

Lakeside's record now sits at 6-17. As for Arabia Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Lakeside has already played their next contest, a 52-40 loss against Dunwoody on the 5th. As for Arabia Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 83-48 defeat against Woodward Academy on the 7th.
