Back in December of 2023, Spring Valley Academy earned a 59-52 victory over DePaul Cristo Rey. Given Spring Valley Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while DePaul Cristo Rey is ranked 700th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Camden Montes continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Calvary Christian suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Temple Christian by a score of 46-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calvary Christian has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Philip Davie, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Schlatter, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Spring Valley Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Calvary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Spring Valley Academy opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-39 loss to Calvary Christian. Can Spring Valley Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
