After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rancho Buena Vista, Carlsbad was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Westview Wolverines. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Sofia Tillis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Kendall Rivera was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Muro, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Carlsbad's record is now 3-12. As for Westview, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7-1.
