Overhills came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against Harnett Central, but Rylan Beasley wouldn't allow it. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Jaguars 50-48 for which the team can thank Beasley, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 10 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played.

Loss or not, Overhills got some senior leadership from Zachiah Chalmers and Demelvin Steele. Chalmers went 7-for-11 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Steele shot 83% from the field on his way to 12 points and six boards.

The victory got Harnett Central back to even at 1-1. As for Overhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Harnett Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Triton at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Overhills, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Western Harnett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
