Basketball Recap: Mineral Springs Takes a Loss

Mineral Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Magnet Cove Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-39 back in November of 2024.

Mineral Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Magnet Cove, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Mineral Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Magnet Cove, they will venture away from home to face off against Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Magnet Cove is facing Hampton at the right time seeing as Hampton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
