Baseball Recap: North Little Rock's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

North Little Rock had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Abundant Life Owls with a sharp 14-1 win on Friday. With that victory, the Charging Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Will Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Estes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. North Little Rock is 2-1 when Estes posts one or more home runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Khylin Fields, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

North Little Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

North Little Rock's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Abundant Life, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.

Looking ahead, North Little Rock will challenge Little Rock Southwest at 10:59 a.m. on Tuesday. Abundant Life does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
