Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Pine Creek Eagles
The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Pine Creek, falling 61-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fountain-Fort Carson has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Fountain-Fort Carson still got an impressive performance from Daniella Bosmans, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fountain-Fort Carson struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pine Creek racked up 14 assists.
Pine Creek was led to victory by Leekaya Burke-perryman and Brooklyn Stewart. Burke-perryman almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists, while Stewart scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Stewart has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alli Dreessen, who scored nine points.
Fountain-Fort Carson dropped their record down to 10-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Pine Creek, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fountain-Fort Carson will take on The Classical Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 57.19 points so far this season, The Classical Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Fountain-Fort Carson better be ready for a challenge. As for Pine Creek, they will be playing at home against Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Fountain-Fort Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
