Basketball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Groveton last Tuesday, Centerville came back down to earth. The Centerville Tigers were dealt a 77-40 defeat at the hands of the Grapeland Sandies on Friday. The Tigers have struggled against the Sandies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeromy Rosales, who posted 16 points and four steals. Rosales is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Chrisman, who earned six points.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Grapeland, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Leon the next time they take the court. Grapeland will head out to face Leon at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Centerville will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
