Basketball Game Preview: Westerville Central Warhawks vs. New Albany Eagles

Westerville Central and New Albany are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Westerville Central Warhawks will welcome the New Albany Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Westerville Central is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They walked away with a 64-51 victory over Dublin Jerome on Tuesday. That looming 64-51 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warhawks yet this season.

Meanwhile, New Albany waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took down the Golden Bears 60-45.

New Albany pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Westerville Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Westerville Central couldn't quite finish off New Albany in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 44-41. Can Westerville Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
