Baseball Recap: Hale Ray Comes Up Short

Hale Ray lost against Cromwell back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Noises took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Noises have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

August Riccio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Matthew Ricard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Aiden Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hale Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Cromwell, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5-1 record.

Looking ahead, Hale Ray will host Haddam-Killingworth at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cromwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Coginchaug Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
