Genesee piles up the points against Beecher

Recap: Genesee Wolves vs. Beecher Buccaneers

The Genesee Wolves's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past Beecher 58-26 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Genesee has managed all season.

Averie Zinn was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 33 points, nine rebounds, and 16 steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Genesee's points. Simpson Autumn was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

The win got Genesee back to even at 5-5. As for Beecher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee will take on Bendle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Bendle is ranked 507th, while Genesee is ranked 529th). Beecher won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against International Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. International Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
