Basketball Recap: Elmore County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Elmore County lost against Wetumpka two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a blow against the Indians, falling 57-22. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.

Wetumpka's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Robinson, who posted ten points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. Robinson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because the Indians are 6-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Andrew Voyles, who went 8-for-15 en route to 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Elmore County and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Wetumpka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Elmore County will look to defend their home court on Monday against Benjamin Russell at 7:00 p.m. As for Wetumpka, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chilton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.9 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
