Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Westminster Christian had won three straight home games and Angelina Fernandez did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Westminster Christian Warriors blew past the Florida Christian Patriots, posting a 62-24 win thanks in part to Fernandez, who posted 22 points along with five boards and four steals. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Westminster Christian's points.

Another player making a difference was Kelsie Kenney, who earned 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

The victory got Westminster Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Florida Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Westminster Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 40-37 win against Calvary Christian Academy on the 24th. As for Florida Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-7 loss against Schoolhouse Prep on the 27th.
