Basketball Game Preview: North Adams Green Devils vs. Eastern Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the North Adams Green Devils will get right back to it and host the Eastern Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

North Adams is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Batavia just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 44-35 to the Bulldogs. While the Green Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 9-5 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Manchester 58-28. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 709th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for North Adams, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

North Adams was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 54-46. Will North Adams repeat their success, or does Eastern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
