Softball Game Preview: Wirt County Tigers vs. Paden City Wildcats

Wirt County is 0-3 against Paden City since April of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Wirt County has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wirt County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-0 to Gilmer County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Paden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 18-3 to Union Local.

Wirt County's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Paden City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12-1.

Wirt County might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Paden City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
