Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Takes a Loss

Appleton East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stevens Point Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Appleton East sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 19-25, 25-15.

Adina DePagter paced Appleton East's offense, picking up six kills. DePagter got some help from Addison Kiekhaefer and her eight assists.

Appleton East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Stevens Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Appleton East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Pulaski on the 27th. As for Stevens Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Luxemburg-Casco on the 27th.
