Basketball Recap: Royal Comes Up Short

Royal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 49-42 to the Dekaney Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Royal still got an impressive performance from Zaelyn Shelton, who posted 14 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Mathews, who put up six points and seven rebounds.

Royal's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Dekaney, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Royal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against Ray on the 14th. As for Dekaney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-44 defeat against College Station on the 14th.
