Etowah had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 victory over the Marietta Blue Devils. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Blue Devils are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Marietta still got an impressive performance from Michael Smith, who posted 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in November of 2024. Merrick Ham was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Etowah's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for Marietta, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Etowah has already played their next contest, a 68-55 defeat against Wheeler on the 6th. As for Marietta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-43 loss against Walton on the 6th.
