Basketball Recap: Riverside-Durham Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Riverside-Durham won the last time they faced Northern Durham, and Darryn Johnson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Riverside-Durham Pirates took down the Northern Durham Knights 74-57 on Thursday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 5-for-9 en route to 21 points and six assists. He is becoming a predictor of Riverside-Durham's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 4-1 (and 5-14 when he doesn't).

Another player making a difference was Talib Harrell, who posted four points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camden Riley, who went 9-for-15 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Stokes, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 16 points and seven boards.

Riverside-Durham is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. As for Northern Durham, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-19.

As of now, neither Riverside-Durham nor Northern Durham have any future games scheduled.
