Recap: Basis Yeti vs. St. Michael Cardinals
The Basis Yeti suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-16 loss at the hands of St. Michael. While losing is never fun, Basis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while St. Michael is ranked 110th).
Basis got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Emily Mullaney and
Jasmine Hall, who each put up six points.
Sammy Mullaney held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.
Basis has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for St. Michael, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.
Basis will be playing in front of their home fans against Northland Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Northland Prep Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for St. Michael, they will head out on the road to square off against Grand Canyon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Canyon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
