Basketball Recap: Gabrielino Piles Up the Points Against Mountain View

Gabrielino was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mountain View on Saturday. The Gabrielino Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mountain View Vikings 56-8. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-3.

Gabrielino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Yamashita, who posted 11 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Chung, who earned ten points and three steals.

Gabrielino's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Mountain View, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing South El Monte the next time they take the court. Mountain View will head out to face South El Monte at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, while Gabrielino will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
