Robert C. Byrd is 2-7 against Morgantown since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Mohigans at 5:30 p.m. Robert C. Byrd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Robert C. Byrd needed a bit of extra time to put away East Fairmont. They blew past the Bees 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Floyd was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Robert C. Byrd: the team is 11-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of JD Ford, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Robert C. Byrd kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Morgantown came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 5-1.
Maddox Boggs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vincent Aloi, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kai Henkins, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Morgantown pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Robert C. Byrd, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Robert C. Byrd has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Morgantown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Robert C. Byrd suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Morgantown in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
